What happened

Trudy was located about 230 miles southwest of Acapulco, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph, according to the US National Hurricane Center in Miami.
A hurricane warning was in effect from Manzanillo in Colima state to Cabo Corrientes in Jalisco.
Traveling northwest at 9 mph (15 kph), the storm is projected to draw near the coast of southwestern and west-central Mexico this weekend, according to forecasters.
Trudy is forecast to bring four to eight inches (10 to 20 cm) of rain, with isolated totals of around 15 inches, across parts of Michoacan, Colima and Jalisco through the weekend, raising the risk of life-threatening flooding and landslides, especially in steep terrain, according to the NHC.
