As of October 16, 2026, Hurricane Trudy has strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane off Mexico’s Pacific coast, moving north-northwest at 7 mph towards the southwestern and west-central parts of the country. Located about 230 miles southwest of Acapulco with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph, Trudy is expected to intensify into a major hurricane by Friday. The storm is forecast to bring rainfall of 4 to 8 inches through the weekend across Colima and Jalisco states, increasing risks of life-threatening flooding and landslides in regions already affected by recent storms causing several deaths and severe flooding.
