Kenya on Tuesday confirmed its first case linked to the ongoing Ebola outbreak in Africa, the fastest-spreading in history, with a Kenyan citizen who arrived from Congo via Uganda testing positive for the infection.
Ebola is highly contagious and spreads in the human population through contact with bodily fluids such as vomit, blood or semen, and with contaminated surfaces and materials such as bedding and clothing.
Duale said 28 contacts, including family members and health workers who cared for the patient, had been identified.
Officials are also attempting to track down a further 23 passengers who shared the flight from Uganda.
