Peachy was injured during the incident and the flamingo’s treating veterinarian said the bird had seven to eight missing feathers, broken shafts and blood loss that were consistent with trauma.

A Canadian tourist who took a flamingo from its habitat at a popular Las Vegas Strip hotel and carried it through the property was found guilty Monday of animal cruelty after prosecutors argued the bird was injured during the bizarre encounter.
Video played at the trial showed Fairbarn holding the flamingo by the neck in an elevator and carrying it down a hotel hallway.
"He should not have done that, should not have gone into the habitat, shouldn't have touched a bird, shouldn't have taken Peachy inside," Tomsheck said in court Monday.

Fairbarn remains under house arrest pending a sentencing hearing set for December 1.
After about five hours of deliberations, jurors returned convictions on felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty counts against Fairbarn.
