Hundreds of masked men blocked roads leading to the Port of Dover on Saturday, chanting “stop the boats” and bringing traffic to a standstill for hours in an anti-immigration protest.
What happened
The outlets' own sentences, most widely reported first. Hover one for who reported it.
Traffic was stopped from going in and out of the port, with the government saying it condemned "the behaviour in Dover and the travel disruption it has caused".
Dover is the UK's busiest international ferry and passenger port, dealing with more than nine million passengers by road and two million freight vehicles in 2025, according to the port's website.
One clip showed demonstrators linking arms across a main road and shouting “stop the boats.”
Jonathan Reynolds, the business secretary, said that although peaceful protest was an “essential part of British life”, this differed from “dressing up in costumes like this and disrupting people’s lives”.

"Peaceful protest is an essential part of British life but that is not what we saw there with that kind of intimidatory behaviour," the business secretary said.
