A federal judge in Washington issued a longer-term injunction Monday blocking the Trump administration from removing or damaging any additional trees on the grounds of East Potomac Golf Links.
Washington — The Department of the Interior is working on a plan to close East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D.C., by Nov. 15 after President Trump twice said the historic course will temporarily shutter for a redesign next month, senior Justice Department officials said Wednesday.
Trump also doubled down on his earlier announcement that construction will begin on Nov. 15 and keep the park closed for 15 months, adding that the "judge has absolutely no right to hold up this very important and beautiful Project."
The judge also required 10 days' notice before the government makes "any irreparable modification" to the course.
