Two people were killed and at least 25 others injured when a shooting broke out during a homecoming block party in Vienna, Georgia, on October 4, 2026. The violence erupted around 1:25 am when deputies patrolling the area heard gunfire; shots were fired from two locations about a block apart. Over 1,000 people attended the event organized to celebrate Dooly County High School’s homecoming week.
In another incident in Baltimore on October 3, 2026, a 12-year-old girl was shot and killed while three others were wounded during a dispute over parking near a youth football event at Leon Day Park. Both incidents highlight the ongoing issue of mass shootings across the United States.
The victims from Georgia included two men aged 20 and 23, each with single gunshot wounds, according to Dooly County Coroner Brett Walls. No arrests have been made nor has any motive for the shooting been identified by authorities.
