The Aporia
On October 4, in Leon Day Park in Baltimore, a shooting broke out during a youth football league homecoming event, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old girl and injuries to three others. The incident began when two men argued over a parking spot and opened fire on each other; the girl was hit by stray bullets. Police Commissioner Richard Worley described the shooters as "cowards" at a Saturday night press conference, while Mayor Brandon Scott expressed disgust at the situation and condemned it emotionally. Two suspects are being sought for the shooting but no arrests were made as of late that evening.
