On September 18, 2026, the UN Human Rights Office released a report documenting 1,004 verified cases of conflict-related sexual violence in Ukraine from February 2022 to July 2026. 89% of these cases were attributed to Russian forces, including members of its armed forces, prison service, and security agencies. The remaining 11% involved Ukrainian authorities. Among the verified abuses were gang rape, genital mutilation, and electric shocks applied to genitals. Most victims in detention were men, particularly prisoners of war, although women and children were also affected, especially in Russian-occupied areas. Russia's diplomatic mission declined to comment on the report, while Ukraine welcomed it as evidence of Russian human rights violations.
