The Aporia
Andrew and Tristan Tate, who deny any wrongdoing, are facing extradition from the US to the UK. Their lawyers plan to challenge this through a judicial review, arguing that pursuing extradition while Romanian proceedings remain ongoing would deprive them of their opportunity to be exonerated in Romania first. In March 2024, Romania agreed to extradite Andrew back to the UK but wants to wait until its own legal processes are completed. The US State Department is reviewing the UK’s extradition applications to ensure they comply with the existing treaty between London and Washington. Andrew Tate faces 16 charges in the UK, including 10 counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, and three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
