As of October 26, 2026, Russian strikes injured six people in Ukraine: four in Zaporizhzhia and two in Chernihiv. The Ukrainian emergency service and Governor Mykhailo Semikin reported the injuries via Telegram. Additionally, Russia claimed it targeted power stations in Kharkiv and Khmelnitskiy regions, port infrastructure in Chornomorsk, and a cargo vessel near Odesa.
The United States has urged Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil refineries, arguing that these attacks contribute to high energy prices, an issue sensitive for the Trump administration amid its conflict with Iran. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy responded that Ukraine will halt such strikes only if Russia stops hitting power infrastructure or if the US allows use of Starshield technology over Russia or supplies Patriot missiles to Ukraine.
