BLANTYRE, Sept 18 - Malawi police said they had rescued a British woman who was kidnapped last week, in an intelligence-led operation in which the kidnappers were shot and later died.

• Police said 47-year-old British national Nusrat Osman was abducted by four unidentified men in the city of Blantyre's Mount Pleasant suburb on September 11.
Authorities have offered a reward of more than £12,600 for 'credible information' that could help secure the mother-of-two's safe rescue and lead to the prosecution of those responsible.
Mrs Osman, from Leicester, had been working in Malawi as an auditor after moving to the country for her husband's job.
Officers exchanged gunfire with the suspected kidnappers, who police said were armed with an AK-47 rifle and a pistol.
