The woman who identifies herself as Donna Arthur, Democratic candidate Amy Acton's mother, says in the ad: 'She lies about her past ... she's lied her entire life.'
What happened

In a statement released by Acton's campaign, her brother, Philip Stearns, said the two were removed from their mother Donna Arthur's custody as children after their stepfather, Arthur's husband, was indicted for raping Acton as a child.
Acton, formerly Ohio’s public health director, has spoken publicly about experiencing childhood abuse and homelessness.
Police and court records show Cledith Arthur was arrested and charged with the rape of Acton in July 1978, when she was 12, after her biological father lodged a formal complaint against him.
A mid-October Marist poll cited by Axios put Acton ahead of Ramaswamy by 50 per cent to 43 per cent among likely voters.

'It's not surprising that Vivek Ramaswamy has stooped to such a despicable low as to attempt to turn the sexual abuse Amy endured at twelve years old from our birth mother's husband into a political talking point,' Stearns noted.
