The incident comes a week after strikes by the Houthis killed 13 people at Riyadh’s international airport, the deadliest attack in Saudi Arabia in more than a decade.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has vowed to take ‘any measure’ to defend Saudi Arabia amid Houthi attacks.
Egypt also joined the Saudi-led coalition that intervened in 2015 to support the Yemeni government against the Houthis.
Saudi Arabia has carried out daily air strikes on the Houthis in Yemen, where government forces are seeking to roll back gains the group made in a lightning offensive in September.
