ABU FALAH, West Bank, Oct 16 - Clad in black and their faces masked, dozens of militant Israeli settlers burned olive trees and threw rocks at Palestinians in a coordinated attack on Friday on a West Bank village's annual harvest that injured at least two people including a journalist.

Settler violence against Palestinians has soared this year and spiked further in the weeks leading up to Israel’s election on Oct. 27.
The West Bank has been under Israeli military rule since the 1967 Mideast war and today is home to around 3 million Palestinians and more than 500,000 Israeli settlers.
The attack continued after the military's arrival, with Israeli soldiers firing tear gas in the direction of the Palestinians who had dodged the jeeps.
Videos from the scene showed some of the settlers using slingshots to launch stones toward the Palestinians.
