A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck Khuzdar district in Balochistan on Saturday at 10:07 AM local time, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The tremors were felt at a depth of 25 kilometres, with the epicentre located 48 kilometers northwest of Khuzdar. Initially reported as causing panic without casualties or property damage, updated reports indicate that one person died when a rock fell from a nearby mountain in the Naal area, killing Abdul Rahim. This is the latest incident among several earthquakes in Balochistan this year; earlier quakes in July and August caused fear but no fatalities were previously reported.
