On October 16, 80 masked Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villagers during the olive harvest in Abu Falah, a West Bank village northeast of Ramallah, injuring at least two people including Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who required hospitalization. The settlers burned olive trees and threw rocks, while some used slingshots to launch projectiles. Despite the arrival of Israeli military jeeps, the attack continued, with soldiers firing tear gas. Human rights groups have criticized the Israeli government for failing to prevent such violence, which has intensified ahead of Israel’s October 27 election. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee condemned the incident as a "despicable act of terror" and called for a full investigation and prosecution of those involved.
