As of October 17, 2026, an airstrike conducted by the Saudi-led coalition killed three children in Yemen's Dhamar province and injured more than a dozen others. The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels accused Saudi Arabia of the attack on houses in al-Ar village, which targeted one child aged 8 and two children aged 10. Additionally, according to Houthi media reports on the same day, Saudi warplanes carried out overnight strikes in Taiz governorate that killed nine people and injured 16 others, including several civilians trapped under rubble. The Houthis stated these attacks used cluster bombs, which are internationally banned.
Since fighting resumed in September, the Houthis claim that over 124 people have been killed in their territories due to ongoing conflicts with Saudi Arabia and its Yemeni allies. Meanwhile, the conflict has seen heightened activity, including Houthi attacks on Saudi targets such as vessels in the Red Sea, oil facilities, and Riyadh’s international airport where 13 people were killed last week.
