The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) advised mobile phone users on Thursday to adjust their network settings and adopt newer technologies such as Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE), Wi-Fi Calling, and VoWiFi to improve calling and internet quality in areas with weak signals. In response to consumer complaints about unclear voice calls and connection delays on 4G and LTE networks, the PTA recommended users enable 4G/LTE settings on their devices if they are not already activated. The authority also urged consumers with older SIM cards to upgrade them for 4G support. VoLTE specifically enables voice calls over a 4G network, which enhances call quality and speeds up connections, according to the regulator. This guidance is particularly relevant in regions where 4G service is expanding following a recent spectrum auction.
