As of October 15, 2026, the FBI, US Postal Inspection Service, and Capitol Police are investigating letters containing suspicious substances mailed to congressional offices in Washington. These letters were postmarked "DSA" and had a return address linked to the Financial District building previously used by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for membership forms. Law enforcement agencies are working to intercept additional letters but warn that some may already have reached their destinations. The suspicious envelopes have also been intercepted at addresses other than congressional offices, though no injuries or specific threats have been reported yet.
