Russell Brand, 51, is on trial for three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault against six women. The alleged offenses occurred between 1999 and 2009 in various locations including a hotel room, workplaces, a toilet cubicle in a bar, and at Brand's home address. Prosecutors describe Brand as a "ruthless" sexual predator who used charm and humor to pursue his goal of sleeping with 5,000 women. The trial began on October 14, 2026, at Southwark Crown Court in London. Prosecutor Riel Karmy-Jones KC claims that Brand treated women as a "means to an end" and had a child-like expectation that his desires would be met. Brand denies all charges. He arrived at court with his wife Laura Gallacher amidst media attention. The trial is expected to continue gaining significant public interest throughout its duration.
