On Sunday, October 11, a cybersecurity incident affected UK fashion brands Phase Eight, Hobbs, and Whistles, which are subsidiaries of the South African retail group TFG. The attack disrupted some IT systems but did not compromise payment information according to initial assessments by TFG London. While the full extent of the data breach remains under investigation, TFG London has assured that if customer data was indeed compromised, they will notify affected individuals or organizations accordingly. This incident comes amidst a wave of cyberattacks on fashion retailers; just a week earlier, Asos experienced unauthorized access to some personal data.
