Authorities name the attacker and most of the 8 victims in last week's Erie mass shooting

On Friday evening, nine people, including two children, were killed in a shooting rampage in Erie, Pennsylvania. The incident began when terrified residents called 911 after hearing gunfire; two women were found dead on the street outside a house where the suspect had barricaded himself inside. Police engaged in an hours-long standoff with the gunman before entering the home and finding additional victims throughout it. The shooter died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah described the scene as one of the worst he has encountered in his 28-year career, emphasizing the profound impact on the community.
