Peter O'Ryan, 48, is still at large after allegedly attacking his parents, 76-year-old father and 74-year-old mother, and brother, 47, with an axe in Tyers, a town in Gippsland, Victoria, on Saturday. The victims were airlifted to The Alfred hospital in critical condition, but are now listed as critical but stable. It is alleged that O'Ryan assaulted his family during an argument, and police have issued a warrant for his arrest. Detective Senior Sergeant Rod Findlay described the injuries as "extremely serious" and stated that this is some of the most severe offending he has seen in his years working with family violence cases. The public has been urged to remain vigilant and contact police if they see O'Ryan, who is believed to still be armed.
