A light plane, a Beechcraft A36 Bonanza, crashed in a grassy field along Musch Road in the Logan suburb of Stockleigh, south of Brisbane, just after 11am on Monday. The plane had taken off from Archerfield airport about 18 minutes earlier, according to flight records. Emergency services were called to the scene and a grass fire broke out, but was under control within an hour by eight firefighting crews. A spokesperson for Queensland ambulances said they had yet to assess any patients from the crash, raising grave fears for the pilot's safety. The site was cordoned off to media and curious neighbors, with about a dozen emergency vehicles remaining at the scene in the early afternoon.
