The Aporia
On October 1, Mehdi Hasan joined Piers Morgan on his show 'Piers Uncensored' to refute claims made by the Israeli military regarding journalists killed in Gaza during the conflict. The Israeli military had accused Mehdi and others of spreading "fake news" and claimed that some slain journalists were Hamas operatives without providing evidence. During the debate, Palestinian-American political analyst Omar Baddar participated alongside Mehdi, while Amit Segal, an ally of Netanyahu, and former Israeli military spokesperson Jonathan Conricus were also present to discuss various topics including the death toll in Gaza, a new documentary titled “Naza” which revealed war crime testimonies from Israeli soldiers, and conspiracies surrounding the FlyDubai plane hijacking attempt. The discussion aimed to address Israel's history of alleged lies and deceptions related to the conflict.
On October 1, the Israeli military tweeted a video attacking Mehdi and Piers Morgan, among others, for their reporting on journalists killed in Gaza since the genocide began; “fake news,” the video called it.
Today, Mehdi joined Piers on his show, ‘Piers Uncensored,’ to debunk the Israeli report that followed that tweet, which included a long list of journalists it claims were Hamas operatives, with little to no evidence of their affiliation with the militant group.
