The Aporia
At around 5:25 a.m. on Saturday in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, located in La Rioja, northern Spain, a bar collapsed, trapping between 25 and 30 people inside. Eleven individuals were injured and taken to the hospital. Emergency services had to rescue people from the rubble of the destroyed building, while firefighters continued their search for anyone else who might have been trapped. Survivors reported that the floor collapsed first, followed by the ceiling. Police have since initiated an investigation into the cause of the collapse. Additionally, heavy rain in Madrigueras, southeastern Spain, led to flooding, causing around 90 people to be rescued and resulting in one fatality: a 102-year-old woman who died inside her home due to rising floodwaters.
