Leaders of India's Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Thursday, after The Indian Express reported that two election commissioners had raised at least 14 concerns over his handling of voter-list revisions in the past 10 months. The revisions began last year and have been criticized for potentially disenfranchising eligible voters and undermining public confidence in India’s electoral process. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke called Kumar "the biggest threat to India's democracy" and threatened nationwide protests beginning on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, if Kumar did not resign by Saturday.
