The Aporia
On August 31, emergency services in Sydney's western suburbs responded to a report that a newborn baby's body had been found inside a garbage bin near an Auburn unit complex. Detectives from NSW Police later identified the mother of the deceased infant, who is a 24-year-old woman. She was initially taken to hospital for assessment and subsequently arrested upon her release. The baby boy was estimated to have lived for approximately 36 hours before being discovered in the bin. After reviewing CCTV footage extensively and issuing an appeal for information locally, police were able to locate the mother almost three weeks after the incident occurred. Authorities continue their inquiries at Auburn Police Station.
