As of October 29, 2026, a Russian drone attacked a train platform at Dnipro’s main railway station in Ukraine, killing 13 people. The state rail company, Ukrzaliznytsia, confirmed that the strike occurred on a platform where a commuter train was preparing to depart for Zaporizhzhia. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported via Telegram that at least five more individuals were wounded in the attack.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in a social media post that Russian forces targeted the platform where two regular trains were present, leading to multiple casualties despite an elevated threat warning issued by Ukrzaliznytsia. The incident highlights the ongoing impact of Russia’s use of drones against Ukrainian infrastructure since its 2022 invasion; last September alone saw more than 5,800 train services evacuated due to similar threats.
