Ukrainian drone attacks on Saturday disrupted electricity and water supplies in Crimea, occupied by Russia since 2014. Sergei Aksyonov, Moscow’s installed head of Crimea, reported restrictions due to damage from an enemy attack using a drone but did not specify how many households were affected out of the peninsula's 2.5 million residents.
Additionally, Russian officials reported that a barrage of drones damaged industrial infrastructure in Togliatti, a city on the Volga river in southeastern Russia. The attacks caused fires and at least several injuries from falling debris. Russia’s defense ministry stated they had shot down 616 Ukrainian drones overnight across more than 20 regions.
In response to these incidents, Ukraine's defense minister Evhenii Khmara announced that SpaceX satellite communications had been restored in Ukraine with connection speeds exceeding 400 km/h, providing stable communication infrastructure.
