At least 11 people have been killed in a suicide bombing at a roadside police checkpoint in northwestern Pakistan, police and rescue officials said.
What happened
The outlets' own sentences, most widely reported first. Hover one for who reported it.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (the Pakistan Taliban or TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
The attack took place in Dera Ismail Khan, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Local police chief Safdar Baloch said most of the injured were security personnel and passersby, with some in critical condition.
Pakistan has experienced a surge in militant attacks in recent years, many of them claimed by the TTP and the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army, or BLA, a separatist group mainly active in neighbouring Balochistan province.
