Evans was a physician and the co-Medical Director of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Pediatric Transport Team as well as an Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, according to his online bio.
Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. Thursday to a home in Edgewood, just outside of Pittsburgh, where they found 46-year-old Idris Evans and a woman both suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.
Evans was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead, while the woman was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
