Israel’s election commission said on Wednesday it had found no fraud in last week’s vote, dealing a blow to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempts to discredit the results.
In the days since, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party have relentlessly accused Arab groupings of having “stolen” the vote, in which they notched unprecedented gains and made themselves potentially instrumental to the formation of an opposition-led government.
Eisenkot, a former military chief trying to unite centrists and the centre-right and turn the page on Netanyahu’s long, polarising reign, accused Likud of attempting a “pogrom against democracy”.
“All complaints submitted by political factions have been reviewed and there were no findings indicating harm to the integrity of the election,” it said in a statement.

Agreed
Reported by outlets on both sides of the middle
The hard-fought vote on Oct 27 did not deliver an outright parliamentary majority to any bloc, with Netanyahu and his allies winning 53 seats and Eisenkot’s camp securing 48 – both well short of the 61 needed to form a government.

The Central Elections Committee said it had conducted an audit of 9,069 polling stations following complaints and was confident that the announced results “accurately reflect the will of the voters”.
If that too fails, a majority of lawmakers could come together to nominate someone within 21 days — or else Israel heads to new elections.
