An Australian court has dismissed mushroom killer Erin Patterson’s appeal against her murder convictions and resentenced her to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
"In all the circumstances after anxious consideration, we have concluded that the case involved such shocking criminality that it is inappropriate to fix a non-parole period," McLeish added.
Patterson was sentenced last September, with the trial judge allowing a non-parole period of 33 years due to the "harsh prison conditions" she would likely face.
“This offending was extraordinarily cold and calculated, and stands to be denounced in the strongest terms,” McLeish said.
