Premier Smith has put 10 questions on Monday’s referendum, with the key one asking if Alberta should stay in Canada or hold a second, binding vote on quitting the country.

Prime Minister Mark Carney will be in Calgary tonight to attend a Forever Canadian rally tour days before a referendum asking Albertans if they should stay in Canada or hold another, binding referendum on separating.
On Oct. 19, Albertans will vote on the whether to stay in Canada or hold a future separation referendum.
On Thursday night, Mr. Carney was set to say that the referendum “comes at the worst possible time,” pointing to what he described as a more dangerous and divided world.
"Don't be fooled by the idea you can 'send a message' with your vote," Carney said.

Reported by outlets on both sides of the middle
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney warned the people of oil-rich Alberta that the United States was trying to break Canada so it could "own us."

His warning comes as Washington and Ottawa are in the middle of a trade war and Trump has threatened to make Canada the 51st US state.
Carney said that while growing up, Ottawa made Albertans feel “like our resources weren't our own” and that more recently the province was made to feel its energy contributions were “against the tides of history.”
