Greg Lynn, a 60-year-old former Jetstar pilot accused of murdering Carol Clay in March 2020, appeared before the Supreme Court of Victoria to argue for bail due to mistreatment and unsafe conditions while in custody. According to his testimony, he was attacked by fellow inmates with faeces and bodily fluids, leading him to spend extended periods in solitary confinement for safety reasons. Lynn claims he has been subjected to various forms of abuse, including being paid very little money for prison work. His lawyer argued that Lynn should be granted bail because he has already spent five years on remand under restrictive conditions, which include limited time outside his cell and being isolated from other inmates due to threats against him. The court is yet to make a decision on whether to grant bail.
