Story summary

In the recent 2026 BC provincial election, voters elected 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly to serve in the 44th B.C. Parliament. The snap election called by BC NDP leader David Eby in September led to the voting taking place just one week after municipal elections. Each of the 93 seats is crucial, with a party needing at least 47 seats for a majority. In the Victoria-Beacon Hill riding, the incumbent MLA, who first took office in 2024 and won that election, faced new challengers but the exact vote percentages were not detailed in this report.
