On October 10, a Polish YouTube channel released recordings of Grzegorz Braun, a right-wing member of the European Parliament who faces charges for Holocaust denial, calling President Karol Nawrocki's office a "Judenrat". This incident highlights a trend in Polish politics where antisemitism and anti-American sentiment intersect. In August, Braun was charged with Holocaust denial after telling a radio host that "Auschwitz with gas chambers is, unfortunately, fake." He also accused Poland of being under "Jewish-American trusteeship" in 2020, illustrating his belief that Jews and Americans form a single occupying power. President Nawrocki is referred to as "my friend" by former US President Donald Trump, further emphasizing the charged political atmosphere around antisemitism and anti-American views in Poland.
Scratch a Polish antisemite, and you will find an anti-American.
In Braun’s worldview, Jews and Americans form a single occupying power.
