The Aporia
A 40-year-old woman died from measles complications in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania on Saturday, marking the state’s third measles-related death this year. The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed the case and noted that fewer than 1% of the 676 confirmed cases statewide had been fully vaccinated. Hospitalizations have reached at least 124 people across the state due to the outbreak. Coroner Greg Furlong emphasized the seriousness of measles, stating it can be a severe illness even for adults and urged residents to heed public health guidance.
