John Mincher, a former contestant from The Great British Bake Off's 2024 season, appeared in Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court and entered a not guilty plea to charges of making two Category A child abuse images. The 39-year-old NHS worker was arrested in August and accused of having these serious images on one of his devices. Mincher, who had participated in three episodes of the show before leaving, was released on conditional bail and will face trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court next month. Deputy District Judge Kate Hearney described the charges as "incredibly serious offences," noting that Category A is the most severe classification for child sexual abuse material, involving images depicting penetrative activity.
