A UK armed forces member died in a road traffic incident in Ukraine on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Defence (MoD). The MoD confirmed that the death was not due to hostile action and has granted the family's request for privacy before releasing more details. Defence Secretary Wes Streeting expressed his condolences, noting that British personnel are providing security to diplomats and supporting Ukrainian forces. This is the second known death involving UK armed forces in Ukraine since Russia invaded the country five years ago; a paratrooper died in December under similar circumstances described as an accident. The incident occurred amid ongoing conflict, including a Russian drone strike near Yahodyn station on Sunday that targeted a train shortly after one carrying former Prime Minister Boris Johnson had departed.
