The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has quietly allowed former captain Mohammad Rizwan and opener Imam-ul-Haq to represent their respective teams, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), in the sixth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I first-class tournament starting on Monday. Both players had previously been under investigation by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for alleged betting and gambling activities following Pakistan's defeat in the second Test in England earlier this year. Their mobile phones were confiscated during the probe, alongside five other players who were withdrawn before the third Test match, which Pakistan lost 3-0. Despite these allegations, Rizwan was initially denied permission to participate in the President’s Trophy due to his failure to appear in a pre-season fitness test, but this reason has now been reconsidered by the PCB.
