The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has quietly reversed an expansion of a program that allowed TSA PreCheck members without plane tickets to go through airport security and access gate areas at certain U.S. airports. The initiative, known as "Gateside by TSA PreCheck," was reintroduced in September at 13 locations before being rolled out to hundreds more this month. However, the expansion was reversed within days without public notice, reverting back to only the original 13 participating airports. These include Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas; Dallas Fort Worth International Airport; Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport; Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska; Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas; Indianapolis International Airport; John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Ohio; Los Angeles International Airport; Mesa Gateway Airport in Arizona; Salt Lake City International Airport; San Diego International Airport; Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in Kansas; and Will Rogers International Airport in Oklahoma City. This reversal comes 25 years after increased security protocols following the September 11, 2001 attacks led to the end of such benefits for travelers.
