The Kelmscott Agricultural Show in Perth, a long-running event featuring family activities and livestock exhibitions, was forced into an early lockdown and closure due to violent incidents involving youths. On Saturday afternoon, fights between groups of young people escalated inside Rushton Park on River Road in Kelmscott, leading the Kelmscott Agricultural Society president Daryl Dawes to call for police assistance. About 50 to 70 juveniles attempted to enter the venue, causing further chaos. The show went into lockdown around 5 pm and was eventually closed early due to the ongoing disturbances. President Dawes expressed regret over the disruption but emphasized that safety measures were necessary to manage the growing situation outside the venue as well.
