James Wehr's wrecked McLaren, involved in a fatal crash that killed him and passenger Lexi Kramer on September 13, burst into flames again at a Costa Mesa tow yard more than a month later. The fire occurred late Wednesday night at a facility contracted by the Irvine Police Department to store vehicles from collisions. Surveillance footage showed sparks appearing on the wreckage before the car caught fire, filling the garage with thick smoke. No injuries were reported. Investigators believe extensive electrical damage caused during the initial crash may have contributed to the spontaneous ignition of the vehicle while in storage.
