Mauricio Tapia, the frontman of Los Retros, was charged with four felony counts of unlawful acts involving a child under 10 in Ventura County Superior Court on Monday. This arrest occurred just days before the indie-rock star's scheduled performance at the Stones Throw 30 music festival in Los Angeles, where he had been expected to perform on Friday. The band, which boasts over 2.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and a hit song "Someone to Spend Time With" with more than 271 million listens, played at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this year. Following Tapia's arrest, the festival organizer removed Los Retros due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The band’s label, Stones Throw Records, has not commented further on the situation.
