Jon Rahm, one of LIV Golf's top players, has agreed to give up approximately £75 million owed to him by the league in order to exit cleanly. This decision comes after LIV filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September following a withdrawal of financial support from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Rahm was listed as the organization's top unsecured creditor, with £5.5 million alone owed for the rest of the 2026 season and an additional £75 million outside his original contract. Despite LIV securing potential financing to continue operations under 'LIV 2.0', Rahm found the proposed terms unacceptable. In exchange for waiving his entire claim, he retains rights to 'Legion XIII', the name of the team he captained, but cannot use it in the new indoor high-tech golf league called TGL, launched by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
