As of October 7, 2026, three people were killed and 36 injured in attacks on two international airports in Saudi Arabia: Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The Houthis, who control much of Yemen and are backed by Iran, claimed responsibility for firing ballistic missiles at these targets as part of the ongoing conflict with Saudi Arabia. At Abha airport, an Egyptian and Algerian national died; in Riyadh, a Sudanese national was killed. The attacks led to disruptions in air traffic and prompted Saudi authorities to issue travel advisories. Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition stated that they intercepted missiles and destroyed launch platforms used by the Houthis in Yemen's capital, Sanaa.
