Bryan Wong, a 25-year-old man with autism, was found dead inside his apartment building in Woodside, Queens, on October 12. Police responded to a 911 call from his father around 8 a.m., where they discovered Bryan unconscious with multiple slash wounds. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. His body was found on a pull-out couch within the walk-up apartment.
Around four hours earlier, Bryan's mother had jumped from the Van Wyck Expressway in Corona and sustained serious injuries including a fractured pelvis and femur. She was hospitalized in stable condition after being discovered lying in the street by a nearby driver who also found her disabled gray Hyundai on the north side of the highway.
Police are investigating whether the mother, whose identity has not been released, had any involvement in Bryan's death, as she left behind what appeared to be a suicide note. The apartment contained at least three knives used in the incident: one in the living room and two in the bathroom.
